I’m interested in being hosted on campus. How do I go about doing that?



Indicate on the registration form (http://www.ecaasu2013.org/registration.php) that you are interested in being hosting.

On-campus hosting is made possible by Columbia students who volunteer to host guests in their dorms. Should you choose on-campus hosting, you will be placed into Columbia student dorms, which are all within a few minutes walk from the main campus. On-campus hosting runs on a first come first serve basis and being hosted is not guaranteed.

How much does it cost to register?



Early registration is $65. Regular registration is $75.

How do I pay for registration?



We only accept payment through Paypal for individual registrations. Click this link: http://www.ecaasu2013.org/payhere.html. Please note that your registration will not be official until you have paid through Paypal. If there’s extenuating circumstances and you cannot pay through Paypal, please email tech@ecaasu2013.org

Will my registration fee be refunded if I decide I don’t want to come to ECAASU 2013 anymore?



ECAASU will not issue any refunds after a purchase has gone through. However, we will allow for registration tickets to be transferred to another person, but only after properly notifying the registration committee of the transfer and confirmation of transfer is sent to both the old ticket holder and new ticket holder. However, registration for the hotel is final. You may purchase travel insurance should you feel that you cannot attend or will not stay in the hotel.

You will not be able save the information entered on the registration form. You must complete the form in one sitting.

How late can I register?



We have a limited number of tickets at each price level so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

How does group registration work?



Group registration is designed/recommended only for groups of individuals that aim to submit one lump payment rather than have each individual pay separately (we do not offer a group discount).

For group registration, please do the following:

1. Have your group’s coordinator or point person email the directors (ecaasu2013@columbia.edu) describing what institution or group you are with, who is specifically in your group (list of names), and other relevant information.

2. Your group coordinator or leader will receive a unique (for each group) group code.

3. Then, all individuals in the group should register individually and make sure that they input the group code during registration. However, individuals should NOT be paying after submission.

4. Rather, the group coordinator should submit a lump payment, after all the group's individuals have filled out the registration form, by using the payment button to purchase multiple tickets (by changing the quantity). Pay

- Please be sure to send an email to tech@ecaasu2013.org as soon as you have made or sent out your group payment.
- Sending a check is acceptable but not recommended.
- Registration fees for the individuals of the group will reflect the time at which payment is received.

What’s ECAASU 2013’s theme?



Within. At the 2013 Conference, we want to take a step back and examine the state of the APA community. We want to encourage reflection on what it means to be Asian American, expose the multidimensional nature of the APA experience, and inspire our peers to act upon what they feel, think and experience as members of the APA community.
Across. There exists strength in numbers. This conference aims to increase dialogue between individuals of different cultural identities, from different geographical locations and with different experiences. We hope to build connections and form coalitions across perceived boundaries.
Beyond. The Asian American identity is one that is constantly being recreated and we are the generation to build it. We aim to have students reflect on what they can do for their community and encourage the APA community to explore ideas and opportunities beyond the traditional and established. We want our attendees to think critically and leave knowing they speak with the intention of being heard.

Will I have wifi during the conference?



Some areas of Columbia University Morningside Campus have free public wifi. However, we are not responsible for providing wifi. Furthermore, you are not allowed to tamper with the wifi network in any way.

Which hotel will I be staying at?



The Hudson Hotel
ECAASU is proud to sponsor the Hudson Hotel for our conference. Below is more information:. Hotel registration opens separately 2 weeks after conference registration opening. The rates are below:
+ $119/night for one single Queen bed
+ $199/night for two Double beds
Hotel registration requires reservation of two consecutive room nights, billed tax-free at the rate above.

How many people can I fit in a room at the the Hudson Hotel?



Guests arriving in groups of 8 or more will be subject to a standard hotel porterage fee of $12.96 per person, round trip. The maximum occupancy of a Standard Queen is 2 persons and a Deluxe Double is 4 persons. ECAASU is not liable for the consequences if rooms are occupied by more than the number of allowable persons.

How do I register for a hotel room?



Click on this link and fill out the form: Hotel Registration.

Please note that conference registration and hotel registration are separate.

Before registering for the hotel, please decide which people will be staying in the room, and choose 1 point person to register and pay for everybody in the room. All guests staying in the same room need only fill in the registration form ONCE, under the name of their point person.

ECAASU has contracted a limited number of room nights at the Hudson Hotel. Should registration fill up, hotel registration will remain open; however, availability is not guaranteed.

To book the Hudson for Saturday, February 23rd night ONLY, please directly contact tech@ecaasu2013.org. However, we strongly recommend attendees to book for two consecutive nights on both Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd.
